Requirements:

RHIA, RHIT or CCS, Graduate with B.S in Health Information Management, preferred
Two to three years ICD-9-CM with DRG assignment coding experience, preferred
Knowledge of diagnoses/procedures in accordance with ICD-9-CM/ CPT coding principles. Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge.
Correctly identifies diagnoses and procedures and assigns correct ICD-9 CM and/or CPT-4 codes to all inpatient, observation and surgical day cases charts
Sequence codes to obtain best DRG assignment for all DRG reimbursement charts. Corresponds with Texas Medical Foundation, Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality and Texas Department of Human Services regarding potential DRG coding changes Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
To successfully meet the requirements of this position, a candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, must be RHIA or RHIT and CCS, have five years of acute care facility, inpatient and outpatient experience, and have current knowledge of DRG and APC regulatory requirements and guidelines.
In addition, a candidate needs at least three years supervisory experience.
